FAQs: German Visa

It really depends on which field you are applying for. Looking at your CV I believe you are looking for a job in software development. Let me answer each of your question individually.

Most of the companies don’t prefer to hire someone living outside Germany because they don’t want to get into the hassle of doing all the work to provide you visa and coordinate with the German government office so that you can go to Germany. Additionally for them it’s a risk to not see you in person and hire someone completely from another part of the world. So there are a lot of variables due to which they prefer to stay away from this hassle.

But not all companies are like that some bigger companies do directly hire from other countries but for that your CV has to be really good for them to consider since the job you are applying for from another country will already have several applicants from Germany itself, so they will definitely prefer someone they can meet in person.

They don’t. But at least you should have worked in some projects for some of the technologies they mentioned. How lenient they are about this again depends on their HR.

I will recommend not to clutter your CV with a lot of text. Just keep it concise and to the point. I’ve seen people usually try to show they can do everything but in reality its not required. The larger your CV the more time it will take them to evaluate and they don’t have that much time since they have 1000’s of CVs waiting for them.

Yes they accept people without German language, but in your case you are not residing in Germany as well as you don’t know German. You need one thing or the other to increase your chances.

There is a job seeker visa also that you can use to go to Germany for 6 months and apply for a job. When they see you are residing in Germany you will definitely get more interview calls. But I suggest you to have at least German Language A-1 certificate.
On the other hand,
I even know some people who already went through this path and found a job. They didn’t speak a single word of German.

For family reunion visa your wife has to show German Language Certificate of A1 and all the other requirements specified on the German Embassy in Pakistan website.

Furthermore, you have to show that you are able to support your family without the assistance of public funds. In some cases, you have to block the amount for your wife. I think 1-year expense i.e 8000 euro.

Currently, there are lots of jobs in IT but finding a job on the basis of your bachelors and without knowing the German language is bit tough. In my opinion, better is to complete your master degree and then go for the job. This will not only increase your chances but also help you in getting more salary. Moreover, for IT guys I always say there is a huge pool of jobs available. If you plan to come to Germany on a job seeker visa and you have expertise specially in programming, you’ll get a job for sure.

Yes, your wife can join you in Germany. For that, your wife has to apply for a Family reunion visa in Pakistan and have to do German A1 course.

Furthermore, you have to show that you are able to support your family without the assistance of public funds.

As far as I know, if you’re looking for an official job you can wait for 3 months to start one in a company. Because the interview process will take the 1 to 1.5 months for you. But if you’re just looking for odd jobs than it shouldn’t be a problem.

The only thing is that if you’re paid less than 450 Euros per month than the government doesn’t charge any taxes on your income. Hence you’re good to go with the 3 month visa also.

It’s simple. Just start looking for a job in a company. You will apply to different companies and once you are offered a job from one of the companies. You’ll go to the visa office to change the visa to a work visa.

So first step is to apply for jobs and get an offer and the rest will be easy ( the company itself will guide you how to proceed with the legal steps ).
